ALTRINCHAM FC BALL BOYS & GIRLS

The Altrincham FC ball boys and girls are organised by Ray Armstrong and must be the largest and best-run such group in the UniBond Premier Division, with some 32 young boys and girls currently enroled. They do an invaluable job in retrieving the ball promptly and keeping play moving.

If you would like to join the team, please contact Ray Armstrong, the Ball Boys' and Girls' Coordinator, either on a future match day at Moss Lane or by ringing the Club on 928-1045. You will be made very welcome and, besides doing a useful job, will get to see the Altrincham and Manchester United Reserve teams in action at close quarters.

The 2002-03 awards to the ball boys and girls were held on Saturday 20 April after the home match against Colwyn Bay. Seen above is captain Rod Thornley presenting an award, with Ray Armstrong lining up the trophies beside him.

    Co-ordinator Ray Armstrong writes:

The season has been very busy for all the ball boys and girls because of Manchester United playing many reserve and youth games at Moss Lane in addition to the Robins' matches. This made a possible total of 49 games in all. The lists on this page show that a lot of the boys and girls attended many of these games and as usual they have done a tremendous job for all the teams that have played on the hallowed turf at Moss Lane.

We must also say a big "well-done" to all the other boys and girls not listed above:

Sean Johnson (3 games in 2002-03), Craig Ashton (5), Michael Brown (4), Jamie Brown (13), Ashley Brown (6), James Dawson (27 and recently left the club), Josh Brown (3), Robert Stacey (2), Dominic Richardson (7), David Richardson (7), Andrew Massey (18), Damien Murrey (19), Matthew Eaton (2), David Fletcher (12), Liam Steele (3), Jamie Steele (2), Jeremy Nivern (2), Jack Owens (2).
