ROSE FAMILY ARCHIVE
Many Altrincham supporters will recall Mike Rose, a longstanding follower of the club who sadly died in December 2022. As well as being a regular at Moss Lane and beyond, Mike was a professor of social history at the University of Manchester and he raised his son Simon in exemplary fashion by ensuring that he, too, became an Altrincham fan.
Simon has kindly provided the Alty Files with a number of evocative images that he collected in the late 1970s; these show three Altrincham players of the era in colour, matchday tickets, fixture posters and cuttings from a scrapbook which a teenage Simon kept at the time.
