By kind permission of Brian Flynn, the minutes of the Altrincham F.C. Supporters' Club Committee are reproduced below. In due course, the Committee will launch its own website.

Minutes of The Altrincham Supporters' Club (TASC) Committee Meeting,
Saturday, 5 July 2011.

TASC Minutes from Meeting on July 5th, 2011

Attendees:

Brian Flynn, Anthony Wright, Colin Mitchell, Grahame Rowley, Ian Mainman, Pete Foster, Dan Jones, Steve Foster, Paul Salt, Geoff Morris

Apologies:

Ian Rosendaal, John Edwards, Ian Jones.

Minutes of previous meeting that were discussed:

Predictions:

Start delayed- no progress to date, still intended to start early in the season. Action: Steve Foster

Penalties

Competition completed successfully. To be repeated in 2011/2012. Action: Anthony Wright agreed to organise

Golf Day

Took place July 1st. 9 attendees with profit of £55. Agreed that we should review this before next year’s event, with regard to whether the event is worthwhile in current format and, if not, any alternatives. Action: Paul Salt/Peter Foster to report back (not urgent!)

Recycling

Requires someone to move this forward. Agreed that Brian Flynn to approach Sarah Rowley. Club has now initiated this and agreed TASC role is to support club efforts. Now closed.

Bottle Bars

This was run twice before season end, first game with limited success, second game much better (sold out). Agreed that this will be repeated next season as appropriate. Item now closed.

PA System

Problem seems to have been worked around, so expenditure not required. Item now closed

TASC Website

No progress to date. Paul Salt offered to assist Dan Jones with setup. Action Dan Jones/Paul Salt.

End of Season Race Night

Race Night raised over £1,300 and was generally successful, particularly bearing in mind circumstances on the night. Agreed that presentations were not well organised and could be improved. It was also agreed that next year a pre-event meeting, dedicated to the event would be worthwhile. Suggested that another event along the same lines may be worthwhile and this to be investigated (eg casino night, greyhound or pig racing). Action: Ian Mainman to investigate options.

Fund Raising and PR ideas

It was agreed that this is not really a TASC activity (based on current TASC remit), however a brief update:

Ian has attended a Conservative Association Business Lunch, which illustrated significant interest in the Football Club from local businesses, which we will follow through. PF attended a Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase which also was very worthwhile, demonstrating lots of local interest, and some immediate practical benefit. The sale of window and car stickers has been paused during the summer. All of the above are now considered ‘Business as Usual’ activities. Item now closed

Recycling of Mobile Phones

Agreed that this should be re-launched. Steve Foster to pick up. To be discussed at next meeting.

Focal point for Fund Raising

It was agreed that it may help if we had a financial target based on a project that the club was launching. This was briefly discussed. However, no conclusion was reached. Carry forward to next meeting.

Radio Robins

By the end of the season the service was largely running well. Agreed that we should be looking at revenue from the service, (possibly a subscription rate and sponsorship). Action - nothing concluded re revenue so will be discussed at next meeting.

Text Alert Service

Not everyone can get the required information on the internet. Anthony Wright to look into possibilities of a text service. Carry over to next meeting

Goal Rush/Dash

Paul Salt to come up with proposal for this which further to report is not just a case of people giving money but also has a draw every 10 goals and can have a sponsor. Progressed very well with £24 per goal pledged already, still aiming to hit £30. Action: Paul Salt to continue to push

Altrincham Festival

Took place on Saturday 2nd July. Went well - £358 raised, with lots of good publicity. Thanks to Steve F for co-ordinating and to all for support. Now closed

Future of TASC

Again discussed in detail, with many views put forward – too many to reach a conclusion. After much discussion agreed that we should obtain a proposal that would be circulated to all, giving the opportunity to all attendees to add their ideas. This process is to be completed by July 30th. Following this, a meeting to be arranged to enable any message for supporters to be aired at the ‘Meet the Manager’ meeting on August 6th. Action: Ian Mainman to circulate his ideas, with all to add their view. Brian Flynn/Grahame Rowley to co-ordinate message for supporters

Provision of Financial Information

Not discussed.

AltyeBay

Initial experiment worked well for football-related items, paused during the summer but to be relaunched as the season starts

Facebook/Twitter

Agreed that the club needs a proper presence. Software now available to move web site items onto Facebook automatically. Club Twitter set up and being used more frequently for messaging, but still opportunities to increase usage considerably. Action – Brian Flynn to update at next meeting.

Membership Update

See above.

Any other Business (A.O.B.)

Next Meeting. Agreed that this would be on Tuesday August 9th, 7:30pm at The Roebuck, Altrincham.
