The following report is by John Laidlar based on information kindly supplied by Altrincham Youth Team manager, George Heslop.

Altrincham's debutant goalkeeper, Neil Woloszczuk, had a startling debut as Lancaster emerged from the fog to score after just 45 seconds, following a slip by Lewis. This was the first away goal conceded by the Youth team this season. However, Lewis and colleagues soon got into gear and led 3-1 at the interval. After Carthy in the Lancaster goal had saved a Tilley free-kick well, Altrincham's play improved. Crowther equalised (25 mins) following a Leahey cross, which was helped on by Schofield. From a Monaghan corner Daniel then scrambled the ball home to put the Robins ahead.

The third goal came after Kennedy's goal-bound shot was headed in by Daniel, following a corner by Leahey (38 mins). Alty themselves conceded a goal from a corner after 48 minutes when a powerful header was almost stopped by a fine attempted save from Woloszczuk but the ball ended up in the net. Otis Thomas replaced Schofield (63 mins) but after only seven minutes on the pitch was sent off when adjudged to have raised his arms whilst jostling for position at a free-kick. McDonald replaced Crowther (neck injury) and Tilley gave way to Wright. Alty's next four games are against teams at the top end of the table so their 100% record will be well tested.
